An athlete from Eritrea deflects from the dictatorial regime

In my previous posting I have put how the Wadiya state/Eritrea/  is doing to have its own kind of Olympic game. In continuation to that article below is recent news.

An Olympian athlete from Eritrea has decided to seek asylum in the UK due to the persecution that is happening in the nowadays know as the North Korea of Africa. It is an honour to represent your country in the games of   Olympics. However it is a disgusting to represent a regime who tortures and intimidate his own government. WEYNAY GEBRESILSIE is one of the 12 strong Eritrean athletes who come to participate in the London 2012 Olympic Games. He claimed asylum in the UK by saying it is not fair to be part of the indefinite military service and he said the athletes like other Eritrean citizens are denied their basic human right. He is a solider without his consent and an athlete by profession.  What made his asylum process unique from the other Eritreans all over the world who seek asylum is because his deflection has got a wide coverage in different Medias including one of the biggest world Medias the BBC.

Eritreans are now seeking asylum in different part of the world due to the suppressive government in their country. According to the UNHCR report Eritrea with only 4 million populations is the 9th refugee producing country. It has been on 20 years since its independence from neighbouring Ethiopia.
